(Sp. antiguo) Old, experienced, cunning, clever, full of tricks and resources, one who is "an old hand at the game", one who "knows the ropes". Antígo siá magsugál, magsáot, magtokár, magpaníkas, etc. He is an experienced gambler, a clever dancer, a skilful music-player, a cunning sneak, etc. (see anád, banád, ábtik, batíd, sagád, lísto, sampáton).

(B) To stroke or touch lightly, to move the hand along with a light touch. Apohápi ang bátà. Stroke the baby. Batíd siá magapóhap sa mga táo. He is an expert at stroking men down i.e. at coaxing them, gaining them over to his side. (see hapóhap id.).

The corner of his jacket was torn. Ang mga bátà batíd gid maggísì sang panápton. Boys have a genius for tearing clothes. Iníng hénero matíngting; índì magísì (magkagísì) sa madalî.
